Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Should I see an attorney before I see my doctor?
A: Your health should be your first priority.  It is important to get checked out by the doctor first. The findings from your exam will show you where you are injured.  This will give you the information you need in order to decide if an attorney is necessary. If necessary, we can refer you to a reputable and qualified attorney.

Q: What if my car sustained only minor damage?
A: Documented studies clearly show that the damage done to your car does not correlate to the potential damage done to you.  You can have serious injuries even though your car has minor damage. Don't judge your injuries by the damage to your car!

Q: Do I have to pay for treatment myself?
A: For most people the answer is NO. All car insurance policies have PIP (personal injury protection) insurance that will pay for necessary treatment after an accident and you may even have insurance called "Med Pay" which may add additional coverage for care. Do not worry!  Simply, call our office and one of our staff will explain this to you.
Q: Will my car insurance rates rise if I use my insurance to go to the doctor?
A: NO.  Your rates will not increase if you see a doctor for treatment of your injuries.

Q: The insurance company has been calling me and wants to settle. What should I do?
A: Do not sign or settle until you've had one or our doctors evaluate your injuries.  If you settle before you understand the extent of your injuries, you may not be able to use your car insurance to cover your medical bills. If you settle, you may be personally responsible to pay for all future treatment.

Q: I've been to the hospital and seen a medical doctor. Do I really need to see a one of the doctors with the Injury Doctors Group?
A: It is very important to talk to a doctor who has experience in the treatment and diagnosis of these types of injuries. Most hospitals will check your blood pressure, pulse and make sure there are no life-threatening injuries from your car accident.  They may release you from the emergency room with a prescription for medication for pain and inflammation. These medications usually treat your symptoms and not your underlying injuries from your accident.  Lack of treatment may often lead to future pain and problems.

Q: Does treatment hurt?

A: Absolutely not. The care is very gentle and quite soothing.

Q: Is the treatment safe?
A: Yes,  Chiropractic and Physical Therapy is a well documented safe and effective treatment.
